Aphyosemion joergenscheeli
Aphyosemion joergenscheeli is a peaceful, rather shy fish that should be kept in a special aquarium for killies. The aquarium should be planted densely with fine leaved plants because they need hiding places. Some javamoss can be used as well. A dark substrate and a dimmed light by using floating plants bring out the colours of the fish. The temperature should be rather low, because these fish don’t like high temperatures. It is harmful for the condition of the animals. A good filter and a regular changing of the water are necessary.
Diet
You should give them live food. They like black mosquito larvae.
Breeding Aphyosemion joergenscheeli
Breeding is not easy. Every day a few eggs are laid and fertilized between javamoss. The eggs should be removed to breeding scales. They hatch after 3 weeks. You can store them dry during that period as well. You can raise the young fishes with baby brine shrimp. Just like their parents the young are very sensitive for high temperatures.
