Aspidoras pauciradiatus – Sixray corydoras

Aspidoras pauciradiatus – Sixray corydoras is a small, peaceful schooling fish that you can keep together with small characins and dwarfcichlids. The aquarium should be planted densely. The aquarium should be densely planted and a good flow of oxygenated water is much appreciated. A part of the substrate should be sandy, because they like to search after food in it and their tender barbels are easily damaged. A regular changing of the water is necessary.

Synonym: Corydoras pauciradiatus

Diet

Small live food should be given as food. Dry food is accepted as well.

Breeding Aspidoras pauciradiatus

Breeding Aspidoras pauciradiatus – Sixray corydoras is very difficult. The water should be acid (pH 6) en very soft (GH 0-1). After a changing of the water with 75 %, the eggs are laid and fertilized between fine leaved plants. After spawning it is recommendable to remove the eggs to another tank. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with vinegar-eels and some days later with baby brine shrimp.
