Betta pi
Betta pi was officially described by Tan in 1998. Its name is based on the Greek letter pi, in allusion to the shape of the symbol on the throat.

Southwest of Tak Bai; Thailand.
Pru Toe-Daeng; Thailand.
Terengganu; Malaysia
(Kelantan; Malaysia?).
Total Length
Around 120 millimetre total lenght.
Keeping Betta pi
Betta pi occurs in peat bogs with a soft bottom and deep water; 1.3 m. The pH was 6 but a pH between 5 and 6 has also been reported. The dGH was 0 in the dry season. Place them in an aquarium of at least 60 cm (for a pair) or larger. Good planting is appreciated so that they can hide.
Diet
Betta pi will eat almost anything on offer; from all types of mosquito larvae up to and including adult Artemia, Krill and Mysis. Alternate frozen food with live food and they will be more than happy.
Breeding Betta pi
Mouth brooder that reproduces almost like Betta renata. Easy to breed.
