Labeo coubie
Labeo coubie can grow up to 80 centimetres, making it too big for a normal aquarium. Although they are group animals, they form such a large territory within them that they can only be kept solitary in an aquarium. In a group that is too small, the aggression cannot be properly distributed. The animals are quite peaceful with other fish, provided they do not have a similar body shape. Other bottom dwellers such as catfish are therefore best avoided.
Origin
Africa, Niger River basin.
Diet
It is omnivorous so plenty of variety should be provided. Vegetable food should also be included on the menu.
