Leporinus affinis

Leporinus affinis is a peaceful fish, which is sometimes quite aggressive towards conspecifics. It is a real herbivore, so the aquarium must be set up with very hard plants such as Java fern. Set up the aquarium with stones and driftwood. These fish are good jumpers, so make sure you have a tight-fitting lid

This species was first described by Günther in 1864.

Origin

South America; Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela.

Diet

They are omnivores with a strong preference for vegetable foods such as algae and lettuce. Dry and live food are also accepted.

Breeding Leporinus affinis

Nothing is known about the breeding of Leporinus affinis in the aquarium.
