Placidochromis phenochilus – Mdoka White Lips

The males of this species are known for their white lips and their deep blue body (almost purple). This species lacks the white spots that Placidochromis sp. phenochilus tanzania do have. The females have a uniform blue color in contrast to the females of the phenochilus tanzania, which have vertical stripes. This species is one of the calmer Malawi species and can be combined well with other species.
