Chindongo

The genus Chindongo was described in 2016 by Li, Konings and Stauffer as a split from the collective genus Pseudotropheus. The name Chindongo comes from the local language in Malawi and means “Little rock-dwelling cichlid”. This genus currently has 11 species.
