Jaap’s Green Aquarium has been running since November 3, 2019. The maintenance of the aquarium is a lot less than I expected. CO2 turns on automatically at 3:00 PM and off at 11:00 PM. The lamp turns up at 16:00 and dims at 24:00. Every week I do a 40% water change and I also vacuum the soil a bit and add some 24hr Aquarist Plant food. Once a month I remove some algae from the glass and every two weeks I trim the plants, because they grow very quickly. I hardly ever clean the filter. In the months that the tank is running I have rinsed the filter just once.
The Aquarium
The aquarium is an ILA optic White aquarium 60x40x40cm on a Juwel aquarium cabinet with the same size. The lamp I use is a Chihiros A601 Plus with a Chihiros commander as a timer / dimmer. I use a self-composed CO2 set from AquaNoa, and an Oase Filtosmart Thermo 200 as a filter with built-in heater. I also use an Eheim skimmer.
Decoration
The substrate is ADA Amazonia II and some filter sand at the front. I don’t know the name of the type of wood I used as a hardscape, the stones are Lava stone.
