Bedotiidae

The family Bedotiidae is named after the former director of the Muséum d’histoire naturelle de Genève<Maurice Bedot. Previously, this family was considered a subfamily of the family Melanotaeniidae or the Rainbowfish called Bedotiinae. In Dutch, this family is also referred to as Madagascar Rainbow Fish.

The family contains only 2 genera and 16 species. They all come from Madagascar.
